The Pinglu Canal stretches 134.2 kilometers in length, starting from the Pingtang River Estuary in Hengzhou City, Guangxi, passing through Luwu Town in Lingshan County, and then entering the Beibu Gulf along the Qin River.

The Pinglu Canal is a key project of the new western land-sea corridor and a landmark initiative for accelerating the construction of a strong transportation nation. It also represents the first major canal in New China's history that connects rivers to the sea, with plans for full operation by September this year.

After its opening, the Pinglu Canal will directly establish the shortest, most economical, and most convenient waterway for shipping from Guangxi and southwestern China to ASEAN regions.
