What is a hoist?

Simply put, it is an "intelligent lifting device" used in hydraulic engineering to control the opening and closing of gates and trash racks. It is equivalent to the "switch hand" of hydraulic structures, directly affecting the safety and efficiency of power station operation, flood control scheduling, and water resource allocation.

Henan Weihua has design certification for super large fixed winch and super large mobile hoist, and has the qualification and strength to provide core equipment for large and super large water conservancy projects.

The single lifting point opening and closing force Q of the fixed winch type super large opening and closing machine is ≥ 3200KN, and the opening and closing force Q of the super large mobile opening and closing machine is ≥ 2500KN. Weihua fixed winch hoist

The fixed winch type hoist consists of a lifting mechanism and a frame, usually fixedly installed on a platform in the hoist room, and the lifting device only performs vertical lifting and lowering movements.

During operation, the equipment receives instructions from the central control room to first raise the gate by 100-200mm, and then continue to raise it after the water level on both sides of the gate is balanced. This process is called "small opening flat pressure gate opening", which can effectively reduce the gate opening force and protect the gate structure.

This machine can also be equipped with safety devices such as safety brakes and hydraulic emergency operators as needed.

Unidirectional door opening and closing machine

Weihua Water Conservancy and Hydropower Hub Project Hoist

The one-way gantry crane is mainly composed of a lifting mechanism, a gantry, and a large vehicle operating mechanism, with the lifting mechanism fixed to the upper gantry.

In addition to being able to lift up and down, the lifting device can also move horizontally along the track direction and is usually arranged on the top platform of the dam for operation.

This equipment generally uses hydraulic automatic grabbing beams to grab and release gates or trash racks, and is equipped with multiple in place sensors and video monitoring systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

In addition, hydraulic cleaning grab, electric anchor, electric rail clamp, electric centralized lubrication, and real-time online monitoring functions can be selected according to customer needs.

Bidirectional gantry crane

Weihua bidirectional gantry crane

The bidirectional gantry crane consists of a small car, a gantry, and a large car operating mechanism. The lifting device has the ability to move in both directions, including lifting, along the track direction, and perpendicular to the track. It is generally installed at the top of the dam.

The equipment also uses hydraulic automatic beam grabbing for operation, equipped with in place sensors and video monitoring systems to ensure safe and reliable gate grabbing and releasing. Customers can also choose to install additional functions such as hydraulic cleaning grab, electric anchoring, rail clamp, centralized lubrication, and real-time online monitoring.

Trolley type hoist

Weihua trolley type hoist

The trolley type hoist consists of a trolley, a platform frame, and a large vehicle operating mechanism. The lifting device can achieve lifting and bi-directional movement along the track, and is often arranged in the maintenance room of the power plant building for lifting gates and trash racks.

During equipment operation, hydraulic automatic beam grabbing is used, and various sensors and video surveillance are equipped to ensure safety. This model also supports optional configurations such as hydraulic cleaning grab, electric anchoring, electric rail clamp, centralized lubrication, and online monitoring.

In 2025, Weihua successfully won the bid for the Pinglu Canal Ma Dao Hub Hoist Project, undertaking multiple equipment including two 52 meter span trolley type hoists. This model has the largest span of the same tonnage in China, further demonstrating Weihua's technical strength in the design and manufacturing of large and special opening and closing machines.
